GYAN DHAN

In this fast changing world today, the one thing that is changing faster than we think is the moral values which make India athe true super power. The curriculum in our schools does not provide for imparting this value education to our children. On the home front, gone are the days when grndma or grandpa spent time with their grand children in taking them through interesting indian tales and mythological fiction which had a strong message of our values like truth, kindness, dharma, righteousness, etc. While we freemasons have believed in charity, we have forgotten this very important charity: the offering of values t oour children. This charity is like teaching a hungryman fishing, instead of giving him fish. Towards this end, GLI proposes to launch project Gyan Dhan.

GYAN DHAN in the first phase, is a set of CD's, each communicating a moral value. The CD will contain a story from our rich culture and will communicate the the message through graphics, animation, narrative etc.

THE STORY and narrative have been made not only simple and easy to comprehend by children, but also interesting enough to hold their attention and retention.

LODGE PARTICIPATION

Like Dhanya Dhan, Gyan Dhan is also a project of every individual lodge and every individual freemason. The lodges will have identify a few schools in their respective city and arrange for the CD presentation through a PC and use of a LCD projector. These can be hired, if not available in the school. The lodges may tie up with the schools and carry out the project on continuous monthly basis.

A LITTLE EFFORT FOR A BETTER ADULT

If we can reach and teach even one vital moral value to one child which will make him or her a better human, we have done our bit. So, brethren, let us play a small yet important role in helping make tomorrow's society a little better than what it is today.
