(Circular No.10/13)

To

All the Regional Grand Masters! Regional Grand Secretaries and Secretaries of all daughter Lodges

Dear Sir and RNIW.Bro.

Subject: 1. Proecedure for closing of the Volumes of Sacred Laws in Lodges.
2. Display of National Flag

It has come to the notice that the Volumes of the Sacred Laws kept at the Altar of some of the Lodges are not in good condition due to frequent use. It is very necessary that the Volumes of Sacred Laws are properly bound and give a neat appearance on the altar.

oreover, it has been observed that often these Volumes of Sacred Laws are opened arbitrarily and attempt is then made them to flatten them on the Altar, so that they stay in place, which is not desirable. It has been suggested that proper book marks made of paper or silk of suitable size may be used for opening the Volumes of Sacred laws properly at pre specified pages, so that these books do not get damaged while opening and closing and flattening them on the Altar at different pages on different occasion. Accordingly all concerned are requested to take immediate steps to ensure that the Volumes of Sacred Laws are proper bound and neatly kept on the Altar and propel procedure is followed in opening them. Further, after the closing of the Volumes of Sacred Laws it is a good practice to place the Square and Compasses neatly above the book and not to leave them inside.

The Grand Lodge of India has already issued a circular No.71/12 dated 9th March 2005 about the need for mandatory display of National Flag. After the Lodge meeting is closed the brethren should turn facing the Flag and sing the National Anthem. It has come to notice that many Lodges are yet to display the National Flag in their temples. It may please be ensured that the National Flag is in suitably displayed in the Lodge behind the W.M. on his right side and then the brethren standing to attention facing the flag sing the National Anthem.

With greetings,
