As per Rule 164 of Book of Constitutions, out of the
sixteen elected members of the Board of General Purposes,
four members, one from each Region, shall retire by
rotation every year. Such retiring members shall not
be entitled to stand for election for a period of 4
years.
2. To fill the vacancy that arises on the retirement
of one member from your Region, nominations had been
invited from the Lodges and I enclose a list of brethren
of your Region who have offered themselves for election.
Out of the candidates listed on the ballot paper, only
one is required to be elected. I am to request that
the p:reference of your Lodge may be indicated in the
duly numbered Ballot Paper as attached, and forwarded
to me latest by 30th September 2007. For facility of
action, I give below the steps required to be taken
to complete the above process:
(a) In the agenda of business for the next meeting of
the Lodge, include the following item in the summons:
"To 'vote for election of one member for the Grand
Board of General Purposes"
(b) The name of one candidate elected by members in
open Lodge, be indicated by placing a cross mark (X)
against his name on the ballot paper, which should be
signed by Master and S ecretary of the Lodge.
(c) The numbered ballot paper as received by you duly
completed as above may be placed in the self addressed
correspondingly numbered envelope provided for the purpose
and sealed. The sealed envelope may be placed in another
envelope and forwarded to the Grand Secretary, so as
to reach him latest by 30th September 2007.
