As you are already aware from the year
2004, 24th June each year ( day of Summer Solstice)
has been designated as Universal Brotherhood Day. Last
year this day was celebrated by the Lodges/Regions with
great enthusiasm along with useful and productive Masonic
activities.
It is suggested that this year also
24th June 2008 be celebrated as "Universal Brotherhood
Day" in the following manner:
1. Suitable programmes may be arranged
at the R.G.L. level at their headquarters to create
awareness about Freemasonry.
2. Freemasons in a particular town/city
may gather at a convenient time and place for an informal
assembly and also arrange Family get together etc.
3. Suitable charitable project(s) may
be implemented involving local prominent citizens and
other dignitaries, with as much publicity as possible
along with Press Conference and interaction with the
Local Media etc.
4. To the extent possible suitable
Seminars/Workshops/Quizzes. may be arranged to promote
Masonic Education.
5. Pamphlets about Freemasonry and
its objectives, to the extent these are available or
as may be downloaded from our website www.masonindia.org
may be distributed among Masons and as also to those
who show interest in knowing more details about Freemasonry.
Stickers may also affixed to Vehicles etc. to create
public awareness about Universal Brotherhood Day.
6. If possible, arrangement may be
made for publication of news of this event in the local
newspaper.
Lodges/Brethren may also include any
other additional appropriate activities on the occasion.
A short report on these celebrations
along with photographs may kindly be sent to the Grand
Lodge after the event.
With greetings,
