At the Annual Communication of the
Grand Lodge of India held at Mumbai on 22nd November
2008, the last three lines of Rule 129 of the Book of
Constitutions dealing with the Treasurers duties
and Lodge accounts was amended as follows.
Existing Provision
All cheques must be signed by any two of the following
viz., the Master, the Treasurer and the Secretary.
Amended Provision
All cheques must be singed by the Treasurer and either
the Master or the Secretary.
All daughter Lodges are requested to
take note of this amendment and take necessary action
to amend their By-laws accordingly and to ensure that
the same is followed by them. As is well known the By-laws
of all Lodges have to be in conformity with the provisions
of the Book of Constitutions. It is therefore requested
that all Lodges may take necessary action to amend the
by-laws accordingly. There is no objection in implementing
the provisions of the amended Rule of the Book of Constitutions
pending formal amendment of the By-laws of the Lodge,
through a suitable resolution to be passed in the open
Lodge, after due notice being given in the summons of
the Lodge regarding such amendment.
With greetings,
