To

All daughter Lodges and Regional Grand Lodges,

Dear Sir and R.W/Y.W./W.Brother,

Subject:- Ceremonial for presentation of Long Term Service Jewels in Craft Lodges, in the presence of Non-Masons and Ladies

The presentation of Long Term Service Jewels in the presence of Non-Masons and Ladies is part of the process of Masonic Liberalisation proposed by M. W. the Grand Master, more particularly on the involvement of families and friends of brethren who are honoured on such occasions.

In the meeting of the Board of General Purposes held on 28th July 2007 at New Delhi it was agreed in principle that LTS Jewels may be presented to brethren in ,meetings organized by Lodges, at their option if they so desire, in the presence of Non-Masons including Ladies, subject to detailed procedures in this regard being worked out. Since then, based on the experience gained on few such occasions of Jewel presentation, both in the case of 60/50 years Jewels by M.W. the Grand Master or his representative and 40/25 years Jewels by the Regional Grand Masters or their representatives, as well as when M.W. the Grand Master or his representative is present when 60/50/40/25 years jewels are presented together, on the same occasion in a Lodge, the Board of General Purposes has approved certain guidelines, procedures and ceremonials for such occasions.

A copy of the same is attached for the information of all Craft LodgeslRegional Grand Lodges for being followed whenever presentation of LTS Jewels is organized in the presence afNon-Masons and Ladies.

It is also clarified by way of general information that whenever M. W. the Grand Master or his representative is present on any occasion of Jewel Presentation, all such Jewels whether they are 25/40/50/60 years will be presented by M.W. the Grand Master, or his representative. Regional Grand Masters may however continue to present 25/40 years Jewels, when they are invited to do so by Lodges in his Region.

With greetings,
