often brethren who come late to attend the Lodge are
admitted inside the Lodge even while initiations/passing/raising
ceremonies are taking place, causing dis!1.1ption &
disturbance for the proper conduct of these ceremonies.
The Procedure and Protocol Committee of the Board of
General Pufposes has considered the matter and based
on their recommendation as accepted by the Board of
General Purposes, the following instructions are issued
for being followed by all Lodges. Accordingly the stages
at which late coming members and visitors may be admitted
is indicated below:-
a) After the Lodge is opened and before
the commencement of the ceremony.
b) After the completion of 1 sl part
of the ceremony, when the candidates retire for personal
comforts.
c) After the completion of the 2nd
stage of the ceremony and before the circulatioll of
the charity box.
d) No admissions after the circulation
of charity box.
e) At no other time, the members/visitors
may be admitted.
f) At every above stage, the Tyler
shall ensure that all those who seek admission are admitted
together in one lot in a group.
The late coming members/visitors may
also be informed of the degree in which the Lodge is
opened so that they may convey their apology for being
late to the W.M. in the Chair, with appropriate signs
of the degree concerned.
