Sub: Celebration of UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY on 24th June, 2004

I am to inform you that at the VII World Conference of Masonic Grand Lodges held at Santiago, Chile early this month, at which our M.W.The Grand Master also participated, it was unanimously decided by the participating Grand Lodges to designate 24th June, each year (day of Summer Solstice) as UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY.

It was also decided that all Grand Lodges would celebrate this day in an appropriate manner.

Accordingly, our Lodges are also required to celebrate this event.

It is suggested that the celebrations on 24th June, 2004 be organized in the following manner:-

  1. All Masons in a particular town/city will gather at a convenient time and place for an informal assembly.
  2. A commemorative badge will be presented to and worn by each brother. Such badges are enclosed herewith.
  3. If possible, arrangement be made for publication of news of this event in the local newspaper. A sample press release is enclosed.
  4. A charitable project be implemented.

Lodges/ Brethren desirous of incorporating additional appropriate activities foithis event may do so.

A short report on these celebrations along with photographs if possible, may kindly be sent to the Grand Lodge after the event.

Please feel free to contact me for any clarifications/details that you may require on this subject.

With greetings,
