Dear Sir and W.Bro.

I am to inform you that the Grand Lodge of India will be conducting Inter Region Ritual Working Competition annually commencing from this year.

The first sUQh competition will be held at Mumbai on Friday 26th November, 2004, prior to the Grand Festival. Each Region will present a team for participating at this competition. The subject for the competition this year will be the Ceremony of Initiation and opening and closing of a Lodge in the three degrees.

The best team will be awarded a Rolling trophy while individual prizes will be awarded for outstanding performances.

The details and other modalities of the competition are sent alongwith so as to bring this matter to the notice or all Lodges and nrethren.

INTER REGION RITUAL WORKING COMPETITON

 

1. NAME OF THE COMPETITION
"Grand Lodge of India Inter Region Ritual Working Competition, 2004" (The title will be followed by the year in which the competition will be held)

2. OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPETITION
a. To promote the standards of Ritual-Working in general.
b. To ensure that every Region will have its own annual competition in particular. .
c. To encourage Lodges to develop competitive spirit in Ritual Working with camaraderie in all.

3. HOLDING OF THE COMPETITION
The competition may be held one day before the Grand Festival at the same place where the Grand Festival will be held.

4. FREQUENCY OF THE COMPETITION
The competition shall be held annually.

5. PARTICIPANTS IN THE COMPETITION
One team from each region. In all four teams may be allowed to participate.

The competition may be initially confined to Craft Ritual only.

6. SELECTION OF TEAMS TO REPRESENT REGIONS
Selection of team representing each Region will be at the discretion of the respective Regional Grand Masters and may be done in any of the following methods:
a. The Lodge that won the just concluded Ritual Working Competition held in each Region may be permitted to represent that Region.
b. The Regional Grand Master of the Region may nominate a Lodge at his discretion as the tcam from the Region to enter this competition.
c. The Regional Grand Master of the Repon may nominate a Team of Officers selectcd from all ovcr thc Region.

NOTE: Unless thcy arc rcgular officers of a Lodgc. no Past Master may be permitted to participate except in capacity of IPM, Chaplain, Director of Cerernonies or Tyler.

7. SUBJECT FOR THE COMPETITION
The subject for the competition may be Initiation ceremony for the first year including Opening and Closing of the Lodge in the three degrecs.

In later years other subjects may be thought over and prescribed.

8. JUDGING OF COMPETITON
The competition will be judged by a panel of Judges comprising five(5) Senior Brethren well versed in the Craft Ritual.

Each Regional Grand Master may be requested to nominate one judge. This will ensure involvement of Regional Grand Masters and also balance in the panel.

The President shall be nominated by M.WJae Grand Master himself.

Quorum for judging the competition shall be three.

9. SUBSTITUTES
Substitutes not exceeding four may be nominated by Regional Grand Master as the case may be. Past Masters cannot be substitutes except for IPM and D of C.

10. PRIZES
Rolling Trophies for Winning Lodge as well as Runner up Lodge are instituted.

Individual prizes may be given to brethren for outstanding performances as the case may be.

Certificates of Merit may be given to the young Brethren who render portions of the ritual as an encouragement.

11. MARKS SHEET
The preparation of marks sheet may be entrusted to the President of panel of judges after decision is taken on important facets of the competiton.

12. PUBLICITY
Grand Lodge of India may start intimation to Lodges in the month of June and Regional Grand Lodges may start intimation in the month of July.

13. Grand Lodge of India will not bear expense of travel etc. of participating teams.
