Under Rule 1M of the Book of Constitutions,
out of the elected members one from each Region retires
by rptation t:very year. The member liable to retire
by rotation shall b~ the one who is longest on the Board
as elected member. As between members whose election
was ~ounced at the same Grand Festival the member to
retire is determined by drawing of lots.
Since an elected member from your Region
will retire this year his vacancy has to be filled up.
As per Rule 164, a member who retires by rotation shall
not be entitled to stand for re-election for a period
of four years. Therefore, irrespective of the fact who
retires, none of the existing members from your Region
who are already serving or had served during the last
two years on the Board, is eligible for this year's
election to the Board.
The Lodges are requested to nominate
an eligible brother who holds a rank not lower than
that of a Past Grand Director of Ceremonies, who would
wish to be a candidate for election. The proforma for
nomination is enclosed. The last date for sending the
nomination is June 30th 2004 and no nomination will
be accepted after that date. C'andidates desirous of
withdrawing from the electio]1 may do so 'on or before
ISth July 2004 by a suitable letter to Grand Lodge of
India.
Grand Lodge of India will sent the
ballot papers after] Sth July 200S to all Lodges.
